Hello!
I am pleased to introduce the wonderful teens helping at Sprague this summer!

Annabelle

Annabelle is an avid reader. She loves the outdoors but the library is her favorite place to be!

Naomi

Hi! I’m Naomi (she/her). I’ll be a junior in high school next year. I enjoy reading, painting, and going on walks. Some of my favorite books are Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and Loveless by Alice Oseman.

Sammy

Hello! I’m a sophomore at Rowland Hall. This is my second summer volunteering at the Sprague Library. I enjoy helping people sign up for the summer reading program, so I’m happy to be back at Sprague this summer. I love to read, play video games, go to Lagoon with friends, and dance ballet. I have been dancing since I was 5 years old. I am participating in a 2 week intensive program with the Colorado Ballet this summer.  Hope to see you at the library soon!

Daniel

Hi, my name is Daniel. Hopefully by the time you’re reading this we’ve already met. I like things that involve other people, particularly sports. I’m also always up for a game of chess and I love hunting for mushrooms. I like learning about people and I hope I can help more people soon.

Madeleine

My name is Madeleine and I am 15 years old. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah! My favorite seasons are spring and winter! I love reading romance and fantasy books. My favorite all time book is To All The Boys I've Loved Before. I enjoy reading, dancing, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and cooking.

Stephanie

I am the Teen Services Librarian at Sprague! I love having Teen Squad here at the library, all of the teens are creative, thoughtful and friendly. I am always impressed with them!  When I am not being a librarian I can be found gardening, bird watching or obsessing over The Real Housewives franchise.

Young poets and aspiring wordsmiths are invited to enter The City Library’s Third Annual Teen Poetry Contest!

This year’s theme is “All Together Now.” Local teens entering grades 9–12 in the Fall are eligible to submit their original work. Winners will receive a cash prize and a chance to read their work at a live event happening on July 29th at 1PM. Winning poems will also be shared on BiblioBoard and the Library’s Teen Blog.

It's not too late to enter!

The submission period goes from May 1–July 15. Winning poems will be selected by a panel of librarians, teachers, and other community members.
