by Ben, Main Library Salt Lake City Public Library’s HUM (Hear Utah Music) is a space celebrating Utah’s local music community. Free streaming access to a curated collection of local music is available to everyone, with downloads available to Salt Lake City Public Library cardholders. Through our frequent call for submissions, this collection will grow and change along with our music scene. The HUM music collection is selected by a jury of local music advocates, who work to build a diverse collection representing our music community. We open up submissions twice a year to music produced in Utah within the last 5 years. This keeps HUM current. HUM also features a local music Digital Poster Archive. This is a growing poster collection that documents local history through artists, musicians, and venues. And don't miss HUM-TV, our first virtual concert series, which debuted in October 2020. All of these collections allow audiences to discover local music and engage with Utah’s unique music culture. This fall, the HUM catalog has been updated with 24 new albums from a diverse group of local artists representing all sorts of genres. Hear for yourself what makes the local music scene so exciting.
